The ‘construction of masculinity is a key component of the overall construction of gender order’. The system of patriarchy creates the concept of masculinity and characterizes it. Others that do not fall in the characteristics of masculinity falls down to another which is femininity or lack of the masculinity. Because of gender differences there is the creation of stereotyped roles. These can not be legitimized only by a certain kind of system but it is supported by those who are in power. As the intersection of gender with other aspects of gender identity, it is not only the patriarchal system that reinforces masculinity but a larger structure such as the world order. The study of masculinity contribute to the understanding of gender inequality for the concept of masculinity is being formed in patriarchy where gender inequality exists. In order to find solutions to the problems, one must first go deeply into the roots of the problem. Gender inequality is rooted in the construction of masculinity in a patriarchal society. The main ingredient of patriarchy is the concept of masculinity. And to solve one aspect of gender inequality, one must abolish the concept of masculinity and eventually patriarchy.
